The Importance of this Role

Our Client — a digital P&C insurance marketplace, built exclusively for partners. Our product simplifies the insurance shopping process. Since 2014, we've been trailblazers for the concept of “embedded insurance,” a buying process that fits naturally into the auto and home ownership experience.   

They are looking for a dynamic Business Development Leader to drive Company growth by identifying and launching new strategic partnerships.   The role is highly entrepreneurial and requires the ability to identify creative partner solutions that will deliver value for them and their partners.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Build and scale the Business Development Team creating a culture of high performance and growth. 

  • Responsible for managing the Business Development P&L, budget and forecast. 

  • Define, monitor and understand the key performance indicators and core metrics that drive results and hold teammates accountable to quarterly growth goals.  

  • Identify, structure, negotiate, and execute complex strategic partnerships with a wide array of partners across new and existing verticals in mortgage, home, consumer and financial services. 

  • Work effectively with C-Level executives at external partnerships to identify stakeholders, win deals and build long term partnerships. 

  • Work closely with marketing, sales, product, operations, and legal/compliance teams to identify impactful opportunities and drive partnerships to deployment. 

  • Set strategy and vision for new verticals across the company. 

  • Constantly challenge the status quo by influencing  improvements to business and technology processes along with enhancements to our products. 

Job Requirements 
  • 5+ years of experience leading high performing Business Development teams.  

  • 7+ years of Business Development experience supporting Enterprise Accounts. 

  • Must have experience building and scaling teams from the ground up and have the ability to create and implement new processes to drive efficiencies.  

  • Must be willing to seek, find and establish conversations with new partners when necessary. 

  • Experience creating economic proposals and forecast models for internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Track record of effectively negotiating contracts and managing highly complex partnerships.

  • Motivated, self-starter with the ability to effectively manage multiple deliverables.

  • Strategic thinker and data driven analyzer, creative problem solver and innovator - you may be building new business models and working on first-of-its-kind partnership structures. 

  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills. 

  • Availability to travel for deals and industry conferences.
