Job Description
As an Actuarial Analyst, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining actuarial models and systems to support pension plan operations. Your work will involve complex data analysis, financial modeling, and actuarial calculations. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide actuarial expertise and support decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain spreadsheet applications and actuarial valuation software (e.g., ProVal).
- Manage pension data, including reconciliation and editing.
- Create and maintain actuarial reports and tools.
- Conduct actuarial valuations, forecasts, and benefit calculations.
- Analyze legislation and prepare actuarial notes.
- Communicate findings effectively through presentations and reports.
- Assist with various pension and insurance projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, insurance, or related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of three years of actuarial work experience.
- Knowledge of state and statewide retirement systems desirable.
