What you will be doing:
- Partnering with the company’s CFO and other executives
- Taking a lead on financing strategies, finance reporting and operations, and more complex finance projects
- Overseeing a team comprised of a Controller, Property Accountants, and Accounts Payable Associates
- Collaborating with other departments and stakeholders
- Managing finance reporting, financial tracking, and budgets for all group entities
- Overseeing financial aspects of acquisitions and sales
- Managing bank relations and communication with lenders
- Ensuring timely and accurate completion of group entities' annual tax returns
- Participating in debt structuring
- Leading projects related to systems, implementations, and new technologies
- Providing leadership and supervision to the Finance and Accounting department
- Recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training new employees
- Communicating expectations, monitoring job results, and providing feedback to encourage personal growth and development
- Fostering a positive working environment that promotes teamwork
- Modeling leadership and staff development to cultivate new leaders within the organization
- Performing other assigned duties as necessary
Experience you will need:
- Adherence to the company's mission and values in all aspects of the job
- Minimum 10-15 years’ experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent relevant work experience
- Professional Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is highly preferred
- Proven leadership experience in personnel management
- Experience with tax returns
- Familiarity with property management accounting software, such as Rent Manager or Yardi
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and precision
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the highest level of integrity
- Highly motivated with a strong desire and ability to learn quickly
- Responsive and open to feedback and growth
- Hands-on approach to work
- Strong leadership and delegation skills to maximize team effectiveness
- Real estate development, acquisition, and/or property management industry experience
