Field Technician – LED & LED Controls
Fully Remote (Dallas, TX preferred) | Full-time W-2
Role Overview
We are seeking a Field Technician focused exclusively on the commissioning, programming, and troubleshooting of lighting control systems. This is not a fixture installation role. You will work on large construction sites (frequently AI data centers), ensuring sensors, network backbone, zone programming, and control systems perform as designed.
The position is 100% remote-based with significant travel. Texas (Dallas area ideal) is strongly preferred due to a multi-year project workload in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Commission, program, and troubleshoot lighting control systems on-site, including occupancy/daylight sensors, network backbone, zone programming, and system integration.
- Work primarily with NX Controls (preferred/primary platform); experience with Lutron, Crestron, Leviton, or Wattstopper is also valuable.
- Diagnose and resolve control, communication, and performance issues in coordination with electrical contractors and general contractors.
- Maintain clear, process-driven documentation of commissioning activities, as-builts, test results, and issue resolution.
- Communicate effectively with field crews, project managers, and the internal team.
- Represent the company professionally on active construction sites while holding technical ground without being high-handed.
- Support project closeout and handoff documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience commissioning and programming commercial lighting control systems.
- Strong understanding of networked lighting controls, sensors, and zone-based programming.
- Ability to read and interpret control schematics, riser diagrams, and system layouts.
- Process-oriented mindset with excellent documentation habits.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills with both field and corporate stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to travel 50–75% (domestic U.S. only), with heavy focus on Texas projects.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work on active construction sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Electrical background or formal electrical training/experience (strongly preferred—enables faster troubleshooting and more effective communication with contractors).
- Direct experience with NX Controls.
- Experience on large commercial or data center projects.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is helpful but not required.
Location & Travel
- Preferred: Dallas / North Texas area.
- Fully remote candidates outside Texas will be considered.
- Travel: 50–75%, primarily domestic U.S., with significant multi-year workload in the Dallas region.
Compensation
$90,000 – $130,000 base W-2, depending on experience and qualifications. Competitive benefits package included.
