Own the story behind the lighting powering the AI & cloud revolution.

The Opportunity

You're not just marketing another lighting product. You're crafting the narrative for technology that's literally keeping the lights on for the world's most critical digital infrastructure — the data centers fueling AI, hyperscale cloud, and the entire modern economy.
Our client is a fast-growing, design-obsessed San Francisco manufacturer that's become a trusted name in mission-critical LED lighting. They've illuminated over 35 million square feet of data centers across the United States with innovative, in-house designed solutions. Their secret sauce? Remote driver technology that dramatically cuts installation time and cost, serious energy efficiency gains (up to 70% reduction in lighting power draw), long-life performance, and a genuine commitment to sustainability with real recycling programs.
They're scaling fast and need a Product Marketing Manager who can own positioning, content, launches, and sales enablement — someone who gets excited about translating technical specs into stories that win architects, engineers, contractors, and facility teams.

What You'll Own

This is a hands-on, high-impact role reporting to the VP of Sales & Marketing. You'll be the connective tissue between brilliant engineering, the sales team, and the market.
  • Positioning & Messaging: Develop compelling product positioning, technical messaging, and value propositions that make complex lighting tech feel obvious and irresistible.
  • Go-to-Market Execution: Build and run launch plans for new products and updates — from strategy through asset creation, sales training, and post-launch iteration.
  • Content Creation Machine: Produce the full stack of assets end-to-end: product one-pagers, spec-friendly sell sheets, brochures, case studies, application notes, website/landing page content, sales decks, battlecards, objection handlers, trade show collateral, LinkedIn content, and light paid creative.
  • Sales Enablement Partner: Work shoulder-to-shoulder with Sales to build the tools that actually move the needle on win rates — email templates, training materials, competitive intel, and feedback loops.
  • Technical Translator: Partner with Engineering/R&D to deeply understand specs (CCT, CRI, optics, drivers, controls, PoE) and turn them into clear customer benefits and stories.
  • HubSpot Operator: Own campaign execution, list building, email/landing page creation, workflows, and performance reporting in HubSpot — proving marketing's ROI with data.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of lighting trends, controls evolution, sustainability requirements, and competitive moves to inform strategy and launches.
  • Performance Loop: Track launch and content performance (lead flow, engagement, sales feedback) and continuously improve.

The Must-Haves

  • 3+ years in product marketing, marketing communications, or a related B2B technical marketing role.
  • Strong independent content creation skills — excellent writing/editing + graphic design capability (layout, typography, visual hierarchy). You produce print-ready and digital assets without hand-holding.
  • Canva mastery (must-have) — you live in Canva and create polished, on-brand collateral and social assets quickly and independently.
  • HubSpot fluency (must-have) — comfortable building campaigns, lists, emails, landing pages, workflows, and pulling meaningful reports.
  • Experience working closely with both Sales and technical/engineering teams.
  • Organized project manager who thrives juggling multiple launches, asset requests, and priorities.
  • Detail-obsessed with a professional, reliable, dedicated work ethic. You take pride in high-quality output.

Nice-to-Haves (Serious Advantages)

  • Lighting or lighting controls experience — extremely preferable. You'll hit the ground running.
  • Background in related technical B2B industries (electrical, building products, controls, sustainability tech).
  • Familiarity with the lighting specification process (architects, engineers, contractors, facility managers, owners).
  • Experience marketing sustainability features — recyclability, certifications, warranties, end-of-life programs, circular design.
  • Basic lighting concepts knowledge (CCT, CRI, optics, drivers, controls, PoE) or strong willingness and ability to learn fast.

About You

You're an excellent communicator who can simplify the technical without dumbing it down. You excel in fast-paced environments and manage projects with confidence and calm. You're hands-on, proactive, detail-oriented, and genuinely enjoy collaborating across teams. You bring positive energy, flexibility, and a commitment to doing great work that moves the needle.

First 90 Days — What Success Looks Like

  • You know the product lines inside-out, understand the key differentiators, and have a clear picture of target buyer personas and the competitive landscape.
  • Priority product marketing assets (one-pagers, sell sheets, core messaging) are refreshed or created from the ground up.
  • A clean messaging framework and repeatable launch checklist/playbook are documented and socialized.
  • You've established a strong, trusted cadence with Sales — regular feedback sessions, enablement requests are flowing, and marketing is seen as a true partner.

The Perks & The Vibe

This is a place where hard work meets real enjoyment. The culture is collaborative, curious, and committed to excellence — hard working, but be prepared to enjoy the work.
  • Benefits: Generous healthcare with 100% employee coverage and 90% family coverage. 401k plan available. Unlimited PTO — because great ideas happen when you're recharged.
  • Travel: Occasional travel for trade shows (data center and lighting industry events), customer visits, and partner meetings. Expect some fun networking and learning opportunities.
  • Impact: Your work directly supports products that reduce energy waste, simplify complex installations, and help power the infrastructure the world depends on. That's pretty cool.
