Technical Sales Manager, NY

The Technical Sales Manager will have responsibilities in three primary areas:

  • Principal liaison between customers, Operations and Armor Commercial team at all producing plants in order to validate the technical offers, overcome technical challenges for manufacturing and developments.
  • Support of technical inquiries from and interaction with customers.
  • Direct commercial responsibility for a defined set of  customers (5-15 depending on complexity, dollar value and location). Ultimate accountability for successful representation of manufacturing lies with the incumbent.

The incumbent will market and sell a variety of armor products for various applications (personal, vehicular, air, maritime and stationary objects). These products are sold directly to integrators who in turn sell directly to global government agencies (Armed Forces, Municipal Police Agencies, etc.). Product Applications may be found in multiple arenas, some of which are untouched and, in their infancy, developing and utilizing armor products. While the primary responsibility is to increase sales and market share, he/she must continue to develop current awareness of innovations, customer processing systems and future expansion plans in diverse industries, in order to respond to and increase sales opportunities.

The incumbent will manage key programs that have been awarded to successful completion as the direct interface between the customer and internal operations (Manufacturing, R&D, Customer Service). Track and report on customer orders and requirements. Act as Commercial interface/liaison with Engineering, Customer Service, R&D and Operations team. Work hand in hand with the operation teams and R&D to provide technical support and problem solving to customers, marketing, production floor, production planning, and customer service in designated area of responsibility. Prepare quotes and proposals for assigned customers.

This role will require frequent visits to customers as well as hosting visits as part of the commercial team.

Education Required:

  • Four-year degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Materials or Industrial Engineering.

Work Experience:

  • This position requires a thorough knowledge of the work areas supervised, typically gained through many years of hands-on experience, specific training, and formal education.
  • 7 Years of experience with Manufacturing required and Ceramics preferred.

Practical/Technical Knowledge:

  • This position requires a thorough knowledge of Material processing, typically gained through experience and specific training, coupled with formal training.

MUST HAVE

  • Four-year degree in Chemical Engineering OR Mechanical Engineering OR Materials/Industrial Engineering.
  • 7 Years of experience with Manufacturing required.
  • Experience in Material processing required.
  • Experience in communicating technical information with customers.

NICE TO HAVE

  • 7 Years of experience with Ceramics.
