Data Analyst, Steel Door Manufacturer, Fontana

Custom manufacturer of commercial hollow metal doors and frames. The responsibility of the Business Analyst 1 is to guide the company in improving processes, products, services and software through data analysis. Straddling the line between IT, Finance and the business, this role will use data analytics to assess processes, determine requirements and deliver data-driven recommendations and reports to executives and stakeholders. Engaging with business leaders and users to understand how data-driven changes to process, products, services, software and hardware can improve efficiencies and add value. Always balancing those ideas against what’s technologically feasible, and both financially and functionally reasonable. At various times this position may work to improve products, hardware, tools, software, services, process, and reporting.

  • Defining business requirements and report them back to stakeholders
  • Participate in product and vendor selections as needed
  • Identify inefficiencies and waste in business processes and proposes improvements to management
  • Understand and help document the various applications at DCI and the flow of information between them
  • Construct process workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications
  • Verify application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented
  • Improve systems by studying current practices; designing modifications
  • Develop with the business, maintain and track key performance indicators & dashboards, business intelligence and key reports
  • Support forecasting, budgeting and financial and cost analysis
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • 4 year degree in a business, finance or IT related field
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale), 3.5 is desired
  • Strong technology, analytical and communication skills
  • Comfortable working with senior decision makers, as well as, all positions within DCI
  • Demonstrated experience building relationships in team environment
  • Facilitation Skills
  • Change Management & Process Improvement Experience a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required, MS O365 and Teams a plus
  • Business analytics tools, MS Power BI and SQL skills a plus
  • Exposure to Software Design, Analysis or Software Maintenance a plus
  • Understanding of networks, databases and other technology a plus
  • Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive
  • Extremely organized with strong time-management skills
