Director Facilities and Maintenance, CA

Our Client: IS a $30M, fully-integrated manufacturer, operating from a 100,000 square foot facility in Southern California and a brand new factory in Ft Worth TX

The Facilities and Maintenance Director is responsible for:
  • Inspecting and maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems to ensure optimal operating results
  • Oversee the company’s facility operations, manage staff
  • Develops and manages a systematic process to the cleaning, repair and maintenance of the buildings, equipment and machinery
  • Oversees construction of new locations
  • Building services, including Janitorial, Security and Parking for two locations in California and one location in Texas

The Facilities and Maintenance Manager will work independently and will supervise personnel to perform preventative, predictive and routine machine and facility maintenance. This position will work closely with Production Leads to ensure adequate performance and systemization of preventive maintenance requirements for equipment including metal shears, presses, punches, conventional and CNC machines, forklifts, and welders.

  • Identify, develop, lead, coach and train Maintenance and Facilities team
  • Support all continuous improvements in safety, quality, 5S and existing manufacturing processes.
  • Provide feedback to leadership to help resolve quality issues or operational improvements in regards to productivity and procedural changes
  • Know and abide to all company rules and policies with regards to safety and conduct, including the use and maintenance of company provided PPE.
  • Embrace the cross-training culture by a willingness to learn other jobs or tasks within the facility.
  • Do daily housekeeping to ensure the work area is always clean and organized.
  • Flexible schedule is required in regards to overtime and start time according to work volumes.
  • Ability to meet fast paced and quick changes production needs and deadlines.

  • Applies electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery and electrical control equipment and circuitry in industrial or commercial plants.
  • Assembles and tests motor-control devices, switch panels, transformers, solenoids, and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles.
  • Diagnose pneumatic and hydraulic components and systems.  
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot cause of electrical or electronic malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using electrical test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Inspect mechanical/electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with safety codes.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous based on machine safety barriers.
  • Test mechanical/electrical systems using various test procedures on electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as pressure gauges, micrometers, calipers, and voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Plan layout and installation of new machinery, electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications.
  • Installs and maintains CNC machine tools and related equipment.
  • Maintains Machine Tools’ electrical systems including reading and interpreting electrical schematics and repairing electrical equipment ranging from low voltage up to 480V-3 Phase.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • General building & facility electrical maintenance.
  • Ability to meet fast paced production deadlines.
