Business Development Director, SaaS Commercial Real Estate, San Franisco

Our client is transforming the real estate investment industry. Our software automates complicated
business tasks around fundraising, investor reporting and communication, freeing our customers to do what they
do best: invest in real estate.

We’re a small but fast-growing team, and we’re looking for an exceptional leader for our outbound business
development (“BDR”) team who thrives on taking on a lot of responsibility in a dynamic startup environment. The
 team hails from real estate and technology backgrounds and is united by a common desire to
deliver exceptional software and service to our customers.

Our customers use our software to manage more than $150B in real estate assets across thousands of unique investments. Our team has tripled this year to 30 people, and we plan to hire another 60 team members over the course of the next year. We
currently have three members of our BDR team, reporting directly to the VP of Sales, and plan to double team
headcount over the next year. 

About the role
We are looking for a Business Development Director to lead our current BDR team and build a
foundation for continued success. This role will report to the VP of Sales. This role provides the chance to join a
startup with a proven business model, clear product-market fit, and the chance to build an industry-changing
company.

Specific responsibilities include:
• Lead a team of 3 in-place BDR reps; recruit an additional 4 reps over the course of the year
• Study and continually refine our outbound sales machine across all channels, developing hypotheses for
improvement, designing tests, and implementing changes
• Work closely with marketing to develop messages, collateral, and content to support your campaigns
• Collect and organize feedback (feature gaps, objections, etc.) from prospects
• Optimize sales enablement tools (i.e. Salesloft), and identify and deploy new tools to help support the
team
• Develop and continually refine sales compensation programs and policies for your team
• Identify key drivers of revenue growth, pipeline trends, and untapped market opportunities 

Qualifications
We’re seeking an organized, detail-oriented, self-starter who excels at all aspects of the role and thrives in a fastmoving
startup environment, with qualifications such as:

• 5-7 years in sales, startup and sales development experience is a plus
• Strong quantative and analytical skills
• Experience identifying and implementing marketing automation solutions
• Mastery of Excel and/or other business analytics tools
• Ability to manage a diverse and highly talented team of top performing BDRs
• Experience building and managing a team
• Exceptional listening skills; clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter personality and comfort with ambiguity
